This project is the brain child of Lisa Kastello and Lisa Higby LeFevre. Lisa Kastello is the Dixon Highschool art teacher.  Lisa Higby LeFevre is an artist and operates Distinctive Gardens along with her husband, Jan LeFevre, and partner, Jim Brown.

Artificial Obsolescense and Hope is a project devised to illustrate current trends in society and to suggest hopeful solutions.  The grounds of Distinctive Gardens will be transformed by Ms. Kastello’s three advanced art classes.  The front half of the grounds will detail current trends in today’s society.  The back half will be the response to these trends.

Ms. Kastello and Ms. Higby LeFevre have worked cooperatively to devise and integrate six art projects that will illustrate the basic theme. Art making will occur both at school and live on the grounds of Distinctive Gardens.  The art installation will culminate with an art opening on Friday, May 26th from 6-8 pm.
