‘ALLUSIVE PURSUIT’ PASTEL SERIES AT QUAD CITY ARTS GALLERY IN ROCK ISLAND, IL

I will be exhibiting my latest pastel series, “Interior Prairiescapes, Series 7: Allusive Pursuit” at the Quad City Arts Center Gallery located at 1715 2nd Avenue, Rock Island, IL 61201. The show runs November 29, 2008 – January 9, 2009. Opening reception is Friday, December 5, 2008 from 7 – 9pm. Gallery hours of operation are: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 10am-5pm; Wednesday and Friday 10am-9pm; and Saturday 10am-6pm.

2 more painting weeks then onto framing

I’ve scaled them up. It has been real interesting seeing how a change in size and board shape alters how they come out. I’ve got 2 more weeks and several more to complete. Then its change up time for the studio as it switches over to a workshop for framing. The delivery deadling for the QC Arts show is November 22nd. I should have enough time for framing. Last year I allowed three weeks which was not near enough. This time its 6.

On Sunday October 19th, the National Association of Women Artists is holding a “Hot Art/Cool Jazz” party, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Alger House, 45 Downing Street, NYC in Greenwich Village. The event includes a Silent Art Auction of work from member artists selected by Jeffrey Wechsler who, in addition to being a Board member, is also Curator for the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University. My piece from Interior Prairiescapes: Series 6 – Memoryscapes entitled “Moving Through It” was selected for this exhibition. Info at: info@nawanet.org
